As a Clinical Professor at Yale School of Nursing, Dr. Linda Allibalogun plays an integral role in shaping the next generation of psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs). She mentors, precepts, and teaches students in the Master’s program for psychiatric mental health, providing guidance as they navigate both academic and clinical challenges. In addition, she has precepted both master’s and doctoral students during their clinical practicums, guiding them through their dissertation processes in accordance with their curriculum to help them achieve their terminal degree. Dr. Allibalogun also serves as a clinical professor at other esteemed institutions, including Chamberlain University, Liberty University, Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, and Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Dr. Allibalogun works closely with fellow faculty to create a comprehensive and nurturing learning environment. He has worked as a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse in various settings, including Sheppard Pratt, Home health, Addiction, long term care, and outpatient psychiatry. He is experienced in treating and evaluating a broad range of psychiatric disorders including anxiety and depression, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, and other psychotic disorders. One of his main goals as a practitioner is to advocate for his patients, provide awareness about mental health and to remove stigma around mental illness. He believes in empowering his patients to be more active and involved in their treatment plans with the goal of improving their quality of life.

She currently serves as a provider at an outpatient mental health clinic in Columbia, MD, where she manages psychiatric care on a part-time basis. Raquel’s educational journey towards becoming a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) began at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland, where she earned her M.S. in Social Work in 2011. She obtained her licensure. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science from Delaware State University in Dover, DE, where she was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. Her academic achievements have laid the foundation for her impressive career.

In her many years in the mental health field, Raquel has served as a licensed psychotherapist, providing psychotherapy services to a diverse clientele, including individuals, children ranging from 5-18 years old, and families. Her primary approaches include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy principles, and Trauma-informed care. She provides referrals to community resources and individualized care, collaborating closely with psychiatric rehabilitation support services.
One of Raquel’s significant roles in the past was as a Clinical Social Worker at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she provided acute psychological and behavioral stabilization and supported geriatric patients with mental illness during acute episodes. She utilized solution-focused therapy principles to address psychosocial needs, worked with patients’ families and support systems, and facilitated safe community re-entry. Raquel has also worked for the Baltimore County Department of Aging, where she provided daily consultation to staff at senior centers, addressing mental health matters involving members. She conducted and facilitated groups focusing on mental health topics and played a crucial role in the Aging Mastery Program for seniors.
Throughout her career, Raquel’s key accomplishments include employing motivational interviewing techniques to determine appropriate client treatment focus, handling daily crisis intervention with families, building treatment plans, and paving the way for clients to overcome their fears and improve their lives. Her counseling and networking efforts with outside medical assistance providers have been instrumental in meeting clients’ needs. She has also facilitated various programs, including the Strengthening Families Parenting Training Program, at esteemed institutions like Sheppard Pratt Health Systems and Johns Hopkins Medical Systems.
